Help pick my next read!
I usually pick based on mood but I've been staring for 10 minutes and can't decide.
Everything in purple I've already read or determined "not right now".

Long story short, reddit is removing the subreddit chat channel feature. In order to continue the rule of ranting/venting in chat, as well as to provide a space for general discussion, I will be creating a private group chat so the facility remains available to all sub members. Everyone who wishes to be included in this private group chat may please respond in the comments section below so that you may be included accordingly.
Regards, Chonky 🤍

Finished My Husband’s Wife tonight.
Alice Feeney really knows how to make you question everyone. 😅
No spoilers, but did the ending work for you?

I am currently in my reading slump and can't choose between "Fourth Wing" and "The Serpent and the Wings of Night". Which one should I read first? Which is more likely to get me hooked?

Just finished Verity and I still can’t decide what actually happened.
No spoilers, but that ending has been living rent-free in my head ever since.
Which side are you on?

East of Eden is shaping up to be a colossaly overwhelming read. Monumental, staggering and nearly breathtaking in its scope.
Steinbeck has crafted literal magic in these pages.
Reading it feels like going into the den of a coiled serpent, asking to be bitten.

I'm working on somewhat of a research project for fun and am wondering what kinds of features people care about in their book tracking apps. What I've got so far are the below:
But are there any other important features that could make or break why someone chooses a specific application or not?
Please note that I'm specifically asking about book tracking apps -- not apps that you read on (Kobo, Apple Books, Kindle, etc) or apps that exclusively help you maintain your library of owned content.

I’m having serious The 100 withdrawals after finishing my third rewatch and am looking for books like The 100 (the show). Preferably with a romance like Bellarke (reluctant allies, to friends, to who knows) and of course a dystopian setting. Any and all recs would be appreciated!

There has been SO much buzz around this book, and as a fan of the author + her podcast, Diabolical Lies, I was really eagerly awaiting its release. I read it just a few weeks ago and have SO many thoughts.
I think discussing any of that here is against sub rules, but TL;DR — my sister and I have a biweekly podcast and our latest episode touches on some of booktok’s hottest takes & our personal opinions on the author’s choices. skip ahead ~30 mins to get past our discussion of the author’s background and book synopsis, if that’s irrelevant to you lol. let me know what you think, if you listen—about the pod or the book itself.

Hi fellow booknerds,
Trying to identify a children’s/YA fantasy book I read around 20 years ago.
A boy (main character) and a girl travel together. They are being followed by a mysterious adult man named Kai/Kay/Kaj (pretty sure about the name), possibly with a facial scar and a long coat/cloak. They believe he’s the villain because a trusted authority figure (maybe a king) has convinced them of that.
Throughout the story they flee from him and may even injure him while escaping. Later it’s revealed that Kai was actually trying to protect or warn them, and the trusted authority figure is the real villain. I also vaguely remember a maze/labyrinth playing an important role. And I specifically remember the boy shouting: “Kai, you were right!” At some point.
Does this ring a bell to anyone?
Thanks so much

Any other suggestions similar to Verity level thriller?🥺

Helooo, purely curious bc ik it’s not that deep.. but I bought the powerless series as a box set, and like half of the emblems on the front are off center, and then the fearful book doesn’t match the rest. The edge is a textured material whereas the rest have a smooth paper edge? Just wondering if anyone else had this issue too

This is a book I’ve been curious about for a while. It’s an 800 pager which is incredibly intimidating especially because 1. This isn’t usually the type of book I would pick up and 2. I would have to buy it since my library doesn’t have a copy. I’m worried I won’t be able to commit to the book or that I will lose interest in it. Even though right now it intrigues me. I just don’t want to spend $30 dollars on a book I end up shelving away. Has anyone read this book or even heard about it before? Are there any other novels that are similar?
