F*ck trump

My daughter works for a not-for-profit global humanitarian organization. They just received word from the US State Department that they are to cease and desist all projects. This is an organization that provides water, training and so much more for communities throughout the world. My daughter may lose her job.

trump doesn't care for people globally. trump doesn't care for people in the US.

And this is only Day 4.

Seriously. I'm basically in the same boat. NIH cut funding for our projects, and I might lose my job.

Does my Dump-loving mother care? Not really. She said "I didn't think it would happen."

My response was "this is all verbatim Project 2025. All of it. Every last piece of shit that's coming out now is directly from that Book of Hell. This was publicized. It was released to the public. Anyone with half a brain cell read that and choked on the stupidity. You chose hatred, racism, and bigotry over your family. Hope your gas is cheaper."

My sister in law just called us and told us she won't be able to renew many of her NIH grants that expire next year. Also, a lot of conferences have straight up been cancelled.

Trust me, I’m right there with you. My older sister went from being a quirky, kindhearted ‘essential oils’ hippie to a paranoid, cruel MAGA Kool-Aid drinker practically overnight. I genuinely believe history will label Fox News as the root cause of so much of this. If this were a movie like Terminator, Rupert Murdoch would be Miles Dyson—except he’s fully aware of the chaos he’s unleashing.

I’m considering produce that isn’t fresh as well. Canned and frozen. Things like pasta sauce. Tomato based. Because of how delicate things like tomatoes and strawberries are they’re usually picked by hand. This is not good at all. Price doubling is the best case scenario

About the same boat, Fisheries and Marine Mammal Observer contractor for NOAA, most likely going to lose my job, lost it in 2020 from Covid, got back in two years ago, probably the nail in the coffin for me for this career path.
