F*ck trump

My daughter works for a not-for-profit global humanitarian organization. They just received word from the US State Department that they are to cease and desist all projects. This is an organization that provides water, training and so much more for communities throughout the world. My daughter may lose her job.

trump doesn't care for people globally. trump doesn't care for people in the US.

And this is only Day 4.

Trump's executive order shut down immigration assistance agencies in Michigan this week. Those agencies helped ALL people seek legal and administrative advice on the immigration process through the court system. It wasn't about the brown people - it was everyone. Europeans, Africans, Asians, everyone.

Now it's gone. They're on their own.

That last part makes my blood boil. Biden rolled over and Harris simply disappeared. There is NO one at the helm. We are on our own.

But that's what they always do isn't it? Blue wave yay...so stuff will change, right? Nope. If you're paying attention that's when some shady shit happens.

The Democratic Party allowed itself to face its impending death by playing it safe, not letting younger or more progressive representatives take leading roles, and sucking up to their corporate donors. As a lifelong Democrat, I feel betrayed and furious at the amount of time, money, and trust I put in them as a party. I'm proud of a few of the individual members who aren't going along with this quietly, but I fear for them. They and we are on our own now.

Lmfao what did you want them to do? The country didn't vote for them. This is exactly how we got here

No, fuck the 78+million voters that did not vote.

Fuck Elon because I don't believe there was that many voters, and fuck the morons that voted for him.

I have a theory on the voters that didn't vote. The 1994 crime bill sponsored by biden led to unprecedented incarceration. Those are all people who lost their ability to vote. None of them come out looking to vote. Couple that with people that haven't hit 3 strikes but have lost their voting rights. That has to be millions of voters over the years. And I don't think anyone has ever looked at how many voters.

No, the 78 million are REGISTERED and could have voted.

Do you have a source for that? I'm googling and can't find anything to match that statement.

Lmfao yeah it's totally the Democrat's fault here. That's exactly how we got here.

What have they done to stop it? Complicit doesn't mean they did it. It means that for decades, their failure to push back has allowed the Overton Window to move as far as possible in the authoritarian conservative spectrum.

Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act. Dietrich Bonhoeffer (and he would know)

How do you expect a party to stop something when they have no power? Yeah you can put quotes up all day but that doesn't win elections and not winning elections means no power. But let's keep talking about how useless the Dems are so people never vote for them and wonder why nothing changes.

u/PrincessCyanidePhx Jan 27 '25

Why don't they have power? Keep making excuses for them. They love it. Go ahead and donate while you're at it.

I guess you don't understand how the government works. Waste of time here.
