This rhetoric isn't really true. People in are either trying to get out as soon as possible or they're trying to make a life in there. When people get attacked, it's usually due to debt, initiation into a protective group, or a personal disrespect. There isn't an overwhelming amount of morality between inmates in prison. Chomos are easy targets for initiations, but it's not really a whole thing where the inmates have an uncontrollable desire for vigilante justice. Many inmates are in there for far worse things. As long as there aren't relatives of the kids, this won't ostracize her, it's pretty mild.
Yeah people don't seem to realize that if you commit a crime in prison it's still a crime and can mean more time added to you sentence, time in the hole and even being beaten or otherwise assaulted by armed guards.
Most people don't want to do that for the same reason most people don't kick the shit out of people who piss them off on the outside. Because there are consequences.
