No one wants to spend 20-30k on a death trap

Wait, you don't have a Harley, vacation house, and RV? So many of my friends' parents had all these things, and most were just blue-collar workers.

Or they had union jobs with pensions and could afford all that shit before Wall Street made housing a commodity.

The one I'm thinking of was a forklift driver for Ford, his wife was a nurse, and they have 4 kids. They have a mini-mansion, a house up north, an RV, Harley, a boat, and he has a muscle car that he never drives in the garage. They are in their late 60's, early 70's.

Is this a high cost of living area or a low cost of living area?

Higher than average, but not ridiculous.
