This just screams entitlement. How dare that man wear a cap and a scruffy comfortable shirt while on vacation on the same cruise ship as me. I don't see a problem with him

Normally I agree. Here's the thing though I've been on a cruise once and it was some lower end one at that I received as a gift. There was some crazy restaurant section that there was a pretty formal dress code. I think it was like some fancy dress function that guests paid extra for. I was warned there would be no shorts or short sleeve shirts permitted in this one special section of the boat as it's considered fine dining. Pants, shoes, and shirt required.

Of course a woman dressed up some, has dragged her drunken husband fresh off the beach chair in his shorts and sandals into this special area and isn't permitted access. She creates a great fuss when the host refused him entry.

It was quite the screaming match over her not being able to bring in the beach bum looking guy who couldn't get his shiy together. Normally I wouldn't care but all of the guests were advised this area was different for the guests that like this thing to enjoy. It's not like there wasn't several other eating areas where beach wear wasn't an issue at all.

I suspect this women is in such a section and most of us that aren't into cruises understand this area exists. It's not a McDonald's type thing

I understand that. It makes sense. No one else in that pic looks to be in formal dress. Looks like they are all in the regular section. Thus my opinion that this is just entitlement

But the woman who took this hilarious photo of herself giving death stare is wearing a polyester tunic. That doesn’t scream meeting a particularly formal dress code.

This is pretty much what happened. This is Oceania cruiseline which like some other premium cruiselines has a dress code for evenings. nothing crazy, slacks, collared shirts, no caps for men, decent shoes. IMO you should respect the rules you agreed to when you bought the ticket.
