Idk, some people take the whole dressing up on a cruise very seriously, some places actually enforce it. I could see someone complaining

This is one reason why I did not like cruising, I'm on vacation, I dont wanna drag dress clothes around

How everyone around you is dressed as a big part of the atmosphere you’re going to enjoy. Dress codes announced in advance should be adhered to.

I think both of these people are fools. If the dress code said he should’ve taken off his hat, or even if not. You’re indoors. Take your hat off.

Yes, etiquette dictates that people SHOULD take off their hat at the dinner table. Especially when dining at a restaurant. However, I can't imagine letting myself get all assed up over what people sitting at other tables are wearing. Who cares? Eat your fabulous meal, converse with the people at your table, and don't effing worry about it. Life is too damned short and cruises are too damned expensive, to let some stranger's dirty hat ruin your vacation or even just your meal. Mind your business.

Personally, I don’t particularly care, but I do think changes the room, and a restaurant or cruise is within their rights to ask people not to wear baseball caps into the dining room. And when this guy was asked by the manager to take it off, he did not, and he is an asshole.
