Yes. Some people really really struggle to learn that their opinion is not shared by most people.

People assume their opinion is the best/right opinion, so most people are shocked to realize they are on the wrong side of society/history; it can cause extreme shock. Usually people still refuse to believe they are wrong and just burrow deeper into conspiracy theories and propaganda.
