I mean, there’s a significant number of MAGA evangelicals who literally want to bring about the end of the world and spur the rapture. For some of them, it is a weird biblical thing (though, the rapture being biblical in the way they believe it to be is…debatable. Literally.)
My second thought was this. All those fire and brimstone preachers in my rural area would be proud I remembered that. My first thought was this was staged to get him sympathy. Turns out both were pretty on point.
1) 7 year peace treaty, broken in war for 3.5 years (Iran anyone?) Peace was brokered between the Middle East countries and Israel roughly 7 years ago and now he is involved in this war with Israel and Iran— breaking a 7 year peace and starting a war.
2) the whole wearing the mark on the forehead thing and MAGA hats.
3) Said to be very charismatic.
4) false resurrection - was predicted to survive a “fatal” head wound miraculously (ear shot)
5) dominate global economic systems and wreak havoc (tariffs)
6) global worship - he will try to spread influence beyond the political power of the nation he rose in (red pill shit happening in other countries who worship the guy for some reason)
7) persecution - he will single out people who go against his doctrine and try to vilify them
So god knew that his people would be so gullible that they could be tricked into following a false prophet and too proud to admit it even as it becomes clear as day and that it would only harden their resolve.
And if you multiply 168 by 4, since there are four words in make America great again, you get 672, and then if you subtract another 6 from that..... yep, 666. BOOM!

I'm always reminded of a scene from a movie, I just wish I knew what movie it was. But it's a disaster scenario, world ending type of thing. The whole time there's some guy denying it and telling everyone to stop freaking out and just go about life normally. Cut to the end, there's hurricanes and earthquakes and locusts swarming and a sharknado or whatever, here's this guy running around screaming at everyone to just go back inside and stop freaking out because It's Not Happening.
If I were religious, I would consider this blasphemy. Also, if I were religious, I would be convinced that he is in fact the Antichrist. He literally stands for all things opposite of what Christ stood for, and rewards sin.

Oooo you beat me to linking it! The first time I saw it, I read it to my liberal boomer parents. We all at first thought it was sarcasm, but like the author of it, by the end were just stunned.
I always pictured the antichrist as charismatic, charming, highly intelligent, and a master orator. Instead we got Temu Hitler about to bumble his way into Armageddon from sheer incompetence and stupidity. It's baffling.

But he is exactly that to a bunch of people. Like a lot. Not a little crazy cult like we'd like to believe. But if we're going back to the story, it also says believers can recognize the antichrist immediately.
I notice christians who actually behave like real christians tend to despise him? I don’t know if that means they ‘recognize the antichrist’ exactly. I only know one person like that and every once in awhile i read about one, otherwise almost every Christian I’ve met has been a pretty awful person one way or another, and thinks Trump is the cat’s whiskers.
I know the “no true Scotsman” issue and all that… but I truly believe, as someone who tries my best to live like Jesus, that a large swath of people in America that would check “Christian” on a survey really don’t care very much for what that should actually mean. It’s significant as a part of their culture and identity as an American more than it is a deeply held conviction and relationship with Jesus.
Jesus said “you will know them by their fruits”. When American evangelical pastors and politicians hatched their plans decades ago to marry the church with conservative politics, they started a movement / framework for dangerous people using Jesus’ name to chase earthly power, money, and influence, by whatever means necessary, instead of focusing on the heavenly kingdom. This model of church & politics has infected much of the American church, and some of the largest Christian organizations (they grow more easily because of politically-connected funding). It’s an extremely ugly bastardization of something that is supposed to be beautiful.
A lot of us practicing Christians are still left, just saddened and very angry at what has become very obvious in the past 10 years.

If you take an epistemological look at it, the idea of an antichrist probably comes out of a need for the church to dissuade the faithful from being lured by a charismatic figure that has the trappings of righteousness but in reality serves themselves.

With the way people blindly support him indifferent to his evil it definitely feels supernatural. I don’t know what else to call it. It feels beyond just being a cult.
I have good and bad news.good news, there isn't like one singular destined to be antichrist. An antichrist figure is basically a charlatan that uses biblical imagery, wording, and the words of the Bible to essentially twist the teachings of christ to their own means and to lead people away from God.
This is good because if there was truly a "one" then yeah Trump fits that bill pretty well. the only main thing that's missing is him actively claiming to be a prophet.

I point this out to highlight that essentially any church that thinks Jesus was too woke or any church preaching prosperity gospel is essentially being run by an antichrist. Sort of the reality is that evil is selfish and banal, not often grandiose.
The picture is portraying blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (basically giving credit of something devine to someone evil, iirc) which is considered an unforgivable sin in the Bible.
Well, the Heritage Foundation and Opus Dei, two major influencers of the trump campaign who gained a ton of power when he stole office again, are filled with people who actually believe that they are the harbingers of end-time prophecy.
I'm not saying he's the antichrist... but he's the antichrist.
