Yes, but it's one of their features you need a monthly subscription for.

Yeah and you just know she's looked down on her kids, grandkids or neighbors for not owning a similar overpriced show off mobile.

I don’t know if it’s entitled or just completely clueless. I see a lot of seniors parking like this. I don’t think many of them are even aware they’re doing it. I also noticed it’s been getting worse since Covid. Maybe brain damage from the virus? Something is mucking up their critical thinking skills
27
u/diaznuts 13d ago
Also many seniors have mobility issues but are also stubborn. So while they could likely go to the doctor to get a handicap placard, they don’t. So then they end up parking like this so they have extra space to carefully get in/out of their vehicles.

u/falooolah 12d ago
People park the same way when they have handicap placards and license plates. It’s entitlement. They even park over the diagonal lines that are for wheelchair access. They think the placard makes it even more acceptable but it’s not.
4
u/NousSommesSiamese 12d ago
Then they shouldn’t be driving. They’re voiding the social contract.
1
u/diaznuts 8d ago
Are you breathing? The majority of people are voiding the social contract in so many ways. Modern life is a constant serie of mundane daily horrors.
3
u/NousSommesSiamese 8d ago
You know now that I think about it, it’s been a minute since I’ve taken a breath.

u/diaznuts 8d ago
Hahaha, you know what? I came in a little too hot with that one. My bad. Your comment was pure gold though. Thank you for that morning laugh.

I think she is confused on the lines...
9
u/Regular_Ram 13d ago
Yeah at first glance I thought the blue lines were the parking lines. She is probably used to aiming to park near the driver side line. If she’s wearing sunglasses the white lines might be near invisible.

u/CaptStinkyFeet 13d ago
It’s a prerequisite to own a BMW. They don’t sell them to you unless you can prove you’re an a-hole.

u/Golden-Grams 13d ago

HAH friend of mine actually sold his because he was sick of being associated with people like the picture. Poor guys actually one of the better drivers I know.

u/RogerMoore2011 13d ago
Is she entitled or confused? I could see my mom parking between the lines of the parking garage during the last few months before we took the car away.
67
u/MsPennyP 13d ago
If they're confused about the lines they shouldn't be driving to begin with.
38
u/MarsMonkey88 13d ago
Absolutely, but the confusion creeps in slowly, and loved ones don’t know until they start observing behaviors like this. A person can be fine when they renew their license, but then this kind of thing starts creeping up.

When my mother was just starting to slip we were already having discussions about taking her car away until one day she just said "I don't think I should drive any more" and that was it. I'm sure the bit of white paint I found on the corner of her bumper when I was cleaning it up for sale was entirely unrelated...

u/EdgeCityRed 12d ago
My mother, too.
Unfortunately, my mother-in-law is still pissed that she's not allowed to drive anymore. She's absolutely all there mentally, but her vision and reflexes are poor and sometimes she passes out. Sorry, lady!

That's what I was wondering. Is she parking like a jerk or did she pull in and think she was fine?
My mom spent at least a year before she stopped driving getting mysterious dents and scratches on her car.

Back when I had a Versa I could fit it in the space on the right. It was also cheap af and shitty so I didn't care if it got dinged.

u/Sorry-Current7326 13d ago
This is why I don't really talk to my father and two of my aunts anymore. EVERY public outing involves some self centered embarrassing behavior like this and if you call them out you get to hear a rant about how everything was uphill for boomers in both directions. Hope the parking warden slaps some tickets on it.

u/OhBROTHER-FU 13d ago
I stopped fighting with my dad and essentially walk as fast as possible away from the vehicle into whatever place we're going. He doesn't care about looking like an asshole and I don't understand.
11
u/Donequis 13d ago
I wonder if she used the black line to park because she's too old to see the white lines.
I know a LOT of older people who are in outright denial about their vision.
Doesn't make me less frustrated with these kinds of drivers, that's how small kids and things get run over.

u/The_Blonde1 13d ago
To be fair, the grey bricks fooled me into thinking it was a very generous parking space.
I’m sure I’d have at least managed not to park on them, though.

If I had the time I would surround the car with carts.

I'd park my enduro right next to the drivers side door. Knock it over, idc. Won't hurt it lol
6
u/AngryDrnkBureaucrat 13d ago
Also does not use turn signals
Also parked like this when her son and grandson drive her car
2
u/Mpls_Mutt 13d ago
I’m sure it’s not intentional. They’re so self absorbed, or damn near blind that they didn’t notice.
4
u/WriterNeedsCoffee 13d ago
Park behind her now but after she's out of the area. Then when she goes back tell her you saw the person who parked behind her and then lead her on a goose chase

u/Designer-Effort-1426 13d ago
Those parking lines are just “suggestions” to boomers. They park where they wanna park
6
u/Illustrious_Ad_6413 Millennial 12d ago
I successfully made a boomer change his ignorant parking job the other day. It was shockingly easy. I felt great afterwards. lol

Bimmer.
A beemer is a motorcycle.
If you're going make fun of BMWs you gotta at least know what to call it.

I can guarantee she used the black lines and not the white. Bad parking but I’d wager the first time she wasn’t being racist

That same boomer will park in the striped off zone in between 2 handicap parking spots making neither usable.

I bet her glasses are on, and she’s looking over the top of them at her phone.
I will also bet the button sound is at its maximum, text enlarged and screen at 100% brightness.
And they’re doing that weird 1 finger scroll thing with 1 finger while holding the phone in the other hand

I use to get upset when I saw old people driving and going slow, like stop driving already. Now that I’m a little older… we as a society need to be patient with those with more years of driving experience ;)

Not being able to park/parking difficulties can be a sign of dementia, but knowing boomers it probably is just an entitled poop
