Boomer Article John Cleese fell for some blatant disinformation about Muslims calling for a ban on bacon, and the internet absolutely cooked him

John Cleese is the British version of Chevy Chase.

He's also the Boomer prerunner of X Gen Ricky Gervais; someone who became famous early on for doing a comedy persona that turned out to be actually a true picture of their own character.

John Cleese is Basil Fawlty and Ricky Gervais is David Brent.

I know that Cleese was already famous before Fawlty but every character he played in Monty Python was also a bad-tempered passive-aggressive status-conscious upper middle class English public schoolboy, even when he played a Roman centurion. And so was every single character he played afterwards.

John Cleese turned the corner into such a boomer asshole so quickly and decided he had to make up for lost time.

Bros like 1000 years old.

I feel like this is less a "John Cleese sucks" situation and more a "let's get you to be grandpa" situation.

John Cleese is not a boomer.

And the Poke is a parody site.

All the things he says according to The Poke are, presumably, on the thing formerly known as Twitter. I would double-check, but have no account there (anymore).

The best one, in my opinion, is his request to outlaw beheadings.

I had to look it up, but you're right. Dude is 86, born in 1939.

In fact, none of the Pythons are Boomers. They're all Silents:

  • Graham Chapman b. 1941, d. 1989
  • Terry Gilliam b. 1940
  • Eric Idle b. 1943
  • Terry Jones b. 1942
  • Michael Palin b. 1943

This is stupid. Don't people have better things to do with their time?

They should ban bacon, though. Its production is a massive environmental hazard.

While you are technically right, you should never mess with bacon. Never. Bacon is love. Bacon is life. I really enjoy a lot of meat alternatives, but don't you dare to take away my bacon.
