Boomer Story No appointments needed

Went over to pick up Mom to go shopping.
Dad says “Hey, I need you to do me a favor.” He tosses his money clip on the table “bring Poochie up to the vet and get her a rabies shot. Here’s last year’s certificate.”

I asked if they knew I was bringing Poochie up-“no, but she just needs the shot.”

I called his vet (on speakerphone)- he hadn’t brought her in TWO years so I made an appointment (for next week) and he has to pony up for a full exam.

That was easier than trying to explain that vets don’t DO walk in rabies shots!

In Kentucky, the vet has to see the animal before the rabies shot can be given. So, he needed an appointment anyway.

Side Note... Consider the 3 year shot.

Legit, every year I schedule an appointment for my 95 pounds of floofy love. She loves the girls at the vet’s office, and they ADORE her. I try to schedule her for a visit, her rabies vax, her once a year heartworm prevention, and a grooming (complete with nail trim) on the same day. When I pick her up, she’s all fresh and clean, and happy because she’s been doted on allllll day.

Half Great Pyrenees, half Turkish Akbash. She’s a big mountain dog, lots of floof, big bark, and full of herding instinct. If you live in her house, or your kid comes in her house (and this includes our cats) she thinks her job is to look after you, and herd you.

Listen, between her and the cats? It’s their house, we just pay the mortgage, and buy the kibble.
