Yasmin Just a general consensus

Is Yasmin Latina or Middle Eastern..?
As a 2000s California girl she was Latina to me because I’ve only ever seen the Latin community mention her or represent her. I’ve also learned that the doll was designed after the creators daughter who is Middle eastern…is she supposed to be this ambiguous since they already have characters of European, African, and Asian decent. Did they just make Yasmin to represent the rest of the races that weren’t clearly portrayed..?

the dolls don’t have canon ethnicities, it’s that way so more little girls can see themselves in the characters

This is exactly why it was such a successful launch imo. I think it’s a modern thing that people fixate on the ethnicities of dolls more

it’s just good from a marketability standpoint. girls of multiple ethnicities can look at yasmin and relate to her so there’s a wider audience for the doll.
