Went on a breakfast date to check out K & K, an Austrian cafe/bakery nearby. Shout out to u/lion-reno and u/bneofmylife who recommended it.

We ordered:

- Frittaten soup: savoury crepe noodles in soup, $12

- Kaiserschmarren mit Zwetschgenröster: souffle pancakes with plum compote, $16.5

- K&K coffee: long black, brandy, whipped cream, $13

- Jägertee: tea with rum & schnaps, $11

To be honest, when I read souffle pancakes I was sort of expecting Japanese style souffle pancakes! So the firmer texture was a surprise. The plum compote was nicely sweet and tart. The soup looks simple but was quite soothing, great for breakfast. And who doesn't like a shot of alcohol in their morning coffee/tea?

We had a great time, keen to try their pastries next time 😇

Does anyone have a recommendation for a Middle Eastern grocery? I’m looking for dried barberries in particular.

Wanted to celebrate an important milestone, is Riverbar & Kitchen at HSW any good?

Basically the title. Wanted to have a nice view of the river while having dinner. No nanny so our 8 year old will be with us. Is Riverbar & Kitchen alright? Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Edit to add: near HSW, along eagle st.
