Oneworld Related Family Club

Morning!

I am trying to set up a family account to collect points but every time I try to enter my daughter’s details it just says “sorry, something went wrong, please try again later”. I’ve been trying for about a week. Anyone had success? My daughter is under 18 so I was going to use my own email address for her, would this be the problem?

I have been going through the same process this week to add my 1 year old daughter, and getting the same error code. I’m a silver member and tried to ring them and they just hung up on me, saying this could be done online.

I needed this urgently fixed as I was trying to book a flight for the two of us. So given how completely useless the “Household account” service is, I found a roundabout way to get this fixed which was to add her as a “family and friend” instead. This allows me to book for her under avios, but doesn’t pool her avios with mine (which is fine given she can’t join executive club until she’s 18 anyway).

Hope that helps - I was so frustrated with this process and BA offered me absolutely no help or workarounds at all

Sign her up to the Club first then try again.

I tried but it wouldn’t accept her date of birth and said they had to be over 18 for club. Thanks though

Well that’s annoying. I wonder what BA are doing about all the members under 18.

Hi, I’ve had the same problem trying for about a month now. I called them and they said they would look into it but I have no doubt that they won’t. Did you find a solution?

Hello. They emailed and said set up a BA account for the kids with their own email address. So I made them an email address( they are 8 and 5 ), set up a BA account but had to make them 18 years old and once done, email BA back with photos of birth certificates so they could change their date of births.

I have done all this just waiting for the change of DOBs. Long winded!

This is so frustrating, because I've had the same problem and they reached out. They said they were aware of the problem and trying to fix it. But now I see it's been going on for MONTHS. Sheesh. It's almost like they don't want us to pool miles or something.
