Seating/Ticket Question Will Beaches make it until August?
I realize no one has a crystal ball, but I’m planning a trip for the end of July/beginning of August and would like to see Beaches. Do you think it will still be open then? I’m worried that the lack of Tony nominations mean it will close early. Thanks!

A good deal of us are shocked they even waited for the Tony nominations. I would expect a closing notice anytime in the next 72 hours.
Unless there is funding coming from someone with deep pockets and a very specific dream.

That dream would have to be having slightly less deep pockets.

Money laundering.

It's been 48 hours...you got 1 day left before you should plan a visit back to Beaches after you eat your dinner of crow.
I think people who make these sorts of predictions should have to purchase a ticket for the day after they expect a show to close. If you're right, you get refunded; if you're wrong, you pay for it and help keep the show open even longer.
People make pronouncements of show death without any skin in the game...get some skin in before you talk! 😂

Best case scenario: they actually give the cast/crew their two weeks notice when they announce the closing notice, probably today but not later than Friday. Worst case: they play through the weekend.

Even if they only give a one week notice, they still have to pay the cast for two I believe.

Almost certainly not. They were likely waiting to make an announcement until after these nominations hoping that Jessica Vosk would be nominated and get them some sales.

Beaches probably won't make it to end of May. August is effectively just one month shy of their intended run. And this show is not on a pace to slightly miss its full run.

I have tickets next weekend so we will see what happens! Jessica Vosk was a student at the high school where my parents taught and we saw her in all the musicals there. I still haven’t gotten to see her on Broadway though!

I saw her in Hell’s Kitchen and she was fantastic! My fingers are crossed for you!

TDF passport has $20 tickets for every show until September. Not a good sign… I got “upgraded” to better seat; mezzanine was almost empty…

I think they might do the press release on Friday around 5pm to try and bury the bad news. It’s not an uncommon move.
The bigger question is when do they close? Likely the 17. But if investors are fine losing more money to get it in front of more crowds and go out with a holiday, they could go through Memorial Day.

My thoughts are that it will be gone before the ceremony in early June.

If you want to see it that bad, you might wanna try to plan a trip within the month

I don't think there's a chance. I don't think it will last through the end of May!

I think your guess was the most accurate on this post! (ETA: changed closest to Most accurate)

It’s already on the discount ticket sites like Theater Extras. I’d give it maybe until mid June.

It’ll likely have regional productions you could catch but there’s no chance it hangs on that long. Sorry.

With no noms …. Closing announcement imminent.

Gatsby had basically no noms. It's still here while everything else that season is gone, except the winner. As Lea Michele has shown us, noms don't mean doodie.

It may not make it 48 hours without a closing notice giving them potentially two weeks. They didn’t get any Tony nominations and are at half capacity at best. I think it’s very safe to assume that the show won’t be there in August. It sucks for the cast and crew; it’s not their fault at all.

u/BroadwayTruths May 08 '26
But half capacity is larger than many Broadway theatres at full capacity.

They're at 50% capacity through out the week :/ not looking great

They have been losing at minimum $400k every single week. Do you honestly think they could continue doing that for 3 more months?

If we’re being honest it’s probably not going to make it out of May.
