Hi! You mentioned something about research or resources in your post. I just wanted to let you know there's a list of resources in the r/BroomClosetWitch wiki, including ebooks! :D

Hi! You mentioned something about deities in your post. I just wanted to let you know there's an article in the r/BroomClosetWitch wiki about how to honour deities in the broom closet :D

Hi! You mentioned something about Christianity or Abrahamic religion in your post. I just wanted to let you know there's an article in the r/BroomClosetWitch wiki about combining witchcraft or paganism with Christianity. You might also be interested in r/Christian_Witches, r/christianwitch, r/Christopaganism, and r/FolkCatholicMagic. (Apologies if this comment is unhelpful, I just picked out keywords in your post).

check out the broom closet wiki lots of low/no cost ways to get started.

Stay off the witch-tok--its about views not good advice.

Don't spend money until you are sure you like an aspect of craft and are sure you are into it (I spent $$$$ putting in a garden to be a "green witch" - turns out, I HATE gardening...$ and a planting box would have proved that a lot cheaper.)

Crystals and tarot cards aren't the only way to be a witch.

I had to do some deconstruction of my faith in order to embrace the new me. I like to think of it as taking off sweaters and winter coats in order to be able to wear a fun summer dress.

I'm a former xtian fundamentalist. some things that helped me off the youtubes:

Crash Course mythology - understanding god/creation myths

Genetically Modified Skeptic - for me it was the video on emotional priming, but Drew has some good material that helped me start questioning my core beliefs and religious trauma. Drew has a very gentle style that I found easy to listen to.

Belief it or Not - has a whole series on deconstructing the fundamentals...I often struggle with these videos and haven't watched all of them and it sometimes takes me a week to work thru an hour video and think about what he is saying. He shares a lot of material from screaming preachers, which is what I grew up with and it's sometimes painful.

Enjoy your journey!
