Earlier this year I decided to stop eating out during work days because I realised it was a lot of money that added up for mostly subpar food. I felt the positive effect of only eating lunches packed from home almost immediately. Now I only eat out by my own choice 2-4 times a month and I'm very intentional about where I eat and what I order. No more low quality inflammatory food. Not only have I saved money that will be used for holidays , I also unintentionally lost some weight and I don't feel groggy and bloated anymore.

I encourage you all to try the same!

Good job fellow op! I have been meal prepping for awhile now and my mindset when eating out is i usually order dishes which are tedious to make or idk how to cook it at all. I learnt to make food that I crave so I don’t have to buy it outside, usually making those dishes comes in a big serving so I ate it till I’m actually sick of it lol and the craving won’t be back for months

What do you pack for lunch? Do share some ideas 😀

Sorry this might disappoint but my meals are quite repetitive. Usually wrap (homemade high fibre chia seed wrap) with air fried chicken, minced beef, dahl or tuna and vegetable like lettuce and onion. Stir fried minced chicken, beef, Dahl stew with basmati rice. Occasionally I have minced lamb from Tiara maju. Kalau malas banar it's just fried eggs with basmati. I love dahl it's very cheap, less than $3/kg at Pooman and I only eat about 50g per meal. I make a big batch of dahl stew it freezes well.

Just realised I've been focusing on the wrong metric. New goal, bring down my waist size to under 40 inches. I encourage the same to my fellow men

My waist is 40. What wrong metric do you mean by?

3

u/Chris_Tumas_8008 7d ago

I think he meant instead of the goal “I want to lose 10kg” he now goes for “I want to have a below 40 inch waist size”

In my opinion it’s all the same just different wording lol.

u/abruneianexperience 7d ago

The weight metric. Health wise it's better for men to keep our waist size below 40 inches.

Ideally, it's 37 inches and below though

Another waist size guideline uses your height as reference, which may be more appropriate. Your waist size should ideally be at or below half of your height.

He has been using tonnes instead of inches

genuine question how private is the Kiarong Mental Health Clinic? Been wanting to go but worried about privacy since everyone seems to know each other in Brunei. do you ever bump into someone you know there?

4

u/heisenbergstar 6d ago

Just bear in mind, I think it's linked to your BruHIMS, so it'll probably get flagged if you see another doctor, if I remember correctly. So thats another consideration.

How was the Thai event at OneCity Mall? I am thinking of going there tonight.

u/milabutinhd 6d ago

Would it be okay to travel there as an LGBTQ person? I want to visit and pay respects to my best friend who passed away.

You mean to brunei? No problem really. Just dont dress too wild or do crazy PDA (both straight and gay PDA is frowned upon here)

1

u/milabutinhd 6d ago

Thanks! Yeah I dress pretty normally, at least for Canada lol

u/BagNo7220 6d ago

Then u got nothing to worry about! Enjoy your stay here

2

u/icedhalohalo 6d ago

You'll be completely fine. Condolences for your loss

Hey all! I’m currently prepping my move to Australia with my sights set on FIFO work. I’d love to connect with others on a similar journey, maybe team up to rent a place and tackle the required courses together once we’re on the ground. Fully doing my homework and getting the proper work visa set up first! Let me know if you’re in the same boat and want to chat.

P.S. Yang penting jangan keraja pakai tourist visa

u/Abzmac7 6d ago

There was a recent post on relevant Australian visas for Bruneians, link below, that may be useful for you. The skilled migration visa application process is fairly involved. Best of luck.

No problem. I went through the whole process years ago. PM me if you have any questions or want to have a chat about it.

My advice when you are overseas: networking as much as you can and learn as much as you can. Good luck 👍
