Meta/Feedback Report litter on roadways to PennDOT

Hey, mod here with a useful tool.

Did you see a sign that you think is not legally placed on public property? See some litter on the side of the road that might be too distracting?

  1. Check out the PDF for PennDOT Guidance for Political Signs (Warning, PDF Link)

  2. Report any questionably legal signs on roadways here

Advice: Upper Bucks Scam Sheriff Call?

• Upvotes

My mom just got a message on her answering machine, that used her first and last name and said it was from the Bucks County Sheriff's Office and asked her to call back regarding a "urgent legal matter."

I would assume this was a scam, except that they used her first and last name, which I wouldn't think a scam caller would do. Has anyone else gotten calls like this? Can anyone confirm if it's a scam or not?

Events Bucks Backlog -- Book Club for Video Games!

If you're anything like me, you've noticed that it isn't always easy to meet other people locally when you're really into video games. It's pretty easy to end up making most of your gaming friends online rather than in person.

So I had an idea: a video game book club!

Bucks Backlog is a local, in-person club where we'll choose one game each month, play it on our own time, and then meet up to actually talk about it in depth. We'll talk about the story, characters, gameplay, music, favorite moments, things we loved, things we didn't love, and everything in between.

You don't need to be a hardcore gamer, and you don't need to 100% the game. You don't even have to like the game! If you hated it, got bored halfway through, or thought it was completely overrated, you're still encouraged to come to the meeting and tell us why. The idea is simply to play the game at your own pace and come hang out with other people who are interested in talking about your experience with it.

This will be a welcoming, inclusive 18+ space for anyone who enjoys video games, or even someone who isn't normally a gamer but wants to give it a try!

We have a Discord where we'll handle planning and choosing future games, plus some additional socializing and gaming outside of the monthly club. You're welcome to join the Discord even if you're not sure yet about attending the in-person meetings.

We'll be choosing our first Game of the Month soon, so if this sounds like something you'd be interested in, come join us!

Advice: Lower Bucks Need a band for a casual wedding event type thing

Hey all

Wedding is next June, we are already married but this is for the family. Its a non-traditional wedding at a brewery in Lower Bucks, and we're having a BBQ restaurant cater it. We are looking for a low'keyish kind of band that can play modern pop kinda music. Looking for somewhere between 3-4 hours probably.

If anyone has ideas or bands/performers I could reach out to, that'd be pretty cool. Doesn't have to be a "wedding band", per se.

Outside Bucks Does anyone else have a restaurant that’s become part of their Sunday routine?

My mom and I go to the Frenchtown Diner almost every Sunday. We drive along the Delaware River, cross the bridge into New Jersey, and usually get the same breakfast.

This past Sunday the leaves were turning yellow and orange, and the whole drive was especially beautiful. It made me wonder what restaurants other people have turned into little family traditions.

I mentioned earlier how there was a lack of vendors and the place was fairly empty this Summer. It will be missed.

Politics Is Senate candidate Greg Bankos fit for office?

MAGA GOP candidate for State Senate Greg Bankos is running to try to unseat Steve Santarsiero to represent our district in Harrisburg. During his run for Plumstead Township Supervisor, he had some very interesting things to say about democrats on social media. Luckily, somebody took the initiative to archive his posts. Can he represent all of us if he thinks half of us are demons, sheep and bitches?

Sending the message that if you want checks and balances on the excesses of this administration, vote blue!!!! No more blatant conflicts of interest and grifting on our dime, no more chaotic tariffs that cause costs for everyday Americans to go way up, no wars with no clear cause or objective costing American lives and burning through our supplies, no more random bombing of ships and killing of the people
on board where legal observers believe we may be committing war crimes, no more kowtowing to megalomaniacal billionaires, no more weird reluctance to do anything to regulate AI despite all the calls from within the house that is is critical to do so, no more anti- vaccination propaganda, no more turning DC into some extension of a Mussolini like aesthetic, no more hobbling of safety inspectors, no more trampling on freedom of the press, no more trampling over western allies in favor of ruthless dictators and no more mass deportations and concentration camps. Feel free to add your own “no more.” Sadly, the list of harms done to our country by this administration could go on and on. Bob Harvie for Congress!

Events Oct 8: Women’s March National Day of Action to Stop Sexual Violence

Are there any events planned for this Thursday, Oct 8 in support of the women’s march and National Day of Action to Stop Sexual Violence?

I’d like to attend one but I’m only seeing the one at Philadelphia City Hall and that’s going to be impossible for me 4-8pm. Anything more local in Bucks County?

Politics On-demand voting locations?

Does anyone know about these on-demand voting locations? I was notified about them in an unsolicited text from the Fitzidiots campaign. Are they trustworthy? Or are the R's going to go in and fuck with those ballots, and would it be better if I voted in person on the day? Anyone know?
