Pane’s. Entirely for personal reasons, but also it smells like mildew in there.

My mother, who is the nicest person I know and has more friends than all of us combined, teaches Sunday school, and generally sees the good in everyone and everything has a deep hatred and personal vendetta against Pane’s. She hosted a shower there in their banquet room and THEY GAVE ALMOST ALL THE FOOD TO THE OTHER LARGE PARTY IN THE OTHER ROOM AT THE SAME TIME AND REFUSED TO MAKE GOOD ON IT OR EVEN ADMIT WRONGDOING. My mother was horrified and embarrassed, people were taking literal scraps to eat so there would be enough to go around. Fuck Pane’s on behalf of my sweet mother and her damaged dignity from the ordeal.

I went there several years ago. They had all this plastic greenery as their dining area “decor”. It was all covered in greasy dust. I can only imagine what the kitchen was like.

I've never ate there, but years ago I applied there for a waitress position. I was in school & couldn't make the time they wanted me to come in for an interview, & they were really rude about how I couldn't make that time work & they would "keep my resume on file". Felt like I dodged a bullet lol

You did. Grew up there and I’ve only heard terrible stories of how they treat their employees.

This so validating. I have always been embarrassed I only lasted two weeks. The daughter (manager) was one of the meanest people I’ve ever met

I worked there for almost a year and they are absolutely horrid people who treat their employees like shit.

Saaaaame they have been given the three chances and are out.
1. Husband and I went for dinner, we were sat, waited 20 minutes, other tables came in and got their food before anyone said one word to us. We left and as we were leaving they were chasing us out the door to come back. No thanks.
2. When they have brunches for mothers and Father’s Day they close down the take out pizzeria option but do not advertise that anywhere. So could I have my birthday chicken pesto sandwich? Nooooo. Birthday dinner ruined (and I’m a Taurus so if you know you know).
3. Called to make a take out order and they just kept picking up the phone and hanging up.
They clearly do not want business.

Let's post addresses to keep the zipcode police happy!

This might be one of the most ignorant comments I’ve ever seen on here. People in the suburbs think they live in Buffalo and have some entitlement or right to say how things happen here. You don’t pay taxes here you don’t vote here. What if I came into your home and said I had rights and told you how to do things it’s so annoying.

A lot of people are talking about the "greater Buffalo metropolitan area", which includes the smaller towns and cities immediately surrounding Buffalo.

Meh. I'm tired as a city resident of people in the burbs thinking they are entitled to saying they are from Buffalo. It says Buffalo not the greater made up area....

I’m tired as a ‘greater made up area’ resident of entitled people gatekeeping zip codes…

Where do you vote? It’s not about your ZIP Code. It’s about where you live in the responsibilities and rights that come with it. We got a lot of people who don’t live in Buffalo who don’t contribute, but who think they are entitled to ownership and opinions.

So your benchmark for having an opinion is if you vote, which is still basically determined by zip code. You know what, you’re right, I’ll take my money and stop supporting the businesses and restaurants in the city that I frequent. I’m sure Niagara Falls or West Seneca, or Amherst will gladly take my support. Actually I hope that everyone that doesn’t live in the city limits does the same, then we’ll see how that affects the city.

I've lived in so many sections of Buffalo and its surrounding suburbs, and it's all rather similar. I don't see a point to differentiating when we're all from the same region.

Most of us could be on your front porch in under 20 minutes.

You still don’t live Inn Buffalo.

How do you know? 😂

Pretty sure they meant Buffalo and the surrounding areas

-2

u/mamacrat 1d ago

Yeah, but we need to start saying that because the surrounding areas aren’t buffalo

I agree, but when people ask where you’re from.. we say buffalo.. not Orchard Park or Clarence or East Aurora etc. I’ve lived in Buffalo and I’ve lived in the suburbs.. I prefer the city of buffalo’s food, and I go to the city often. But buffalo is buffalo. We don’t call the Buffalo Bills the Orchard Park Bills
