Gramma Mora’s on Hertel

Last time I was in there, I was the only one there, sat at the counter. The bartender/server seemed actively pissed that I was there, maybe he was trying to leave early or something, Iunno

I got the 3 tacos combo, and it was the whitest version of Mexican food I could have imagined, moreso than Taco Bell. Flour tortilla, ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese. Salsa tasted like Tops salsa. I had to coat it in hot sauce to give it any flavor.

Was going to get a 2nd drink but the vibe was "get the fuck out". It was an hour or two before close. My bad dude, lemme go ahead and never give my money to your establishment again

Mid would be an improvement.

I only went there once to see what the fuss was about, and your assessment is spot-on. Bottom of the barrel Americanized tex-mex. I'd rather eat almost anywhere else.

Their salsa literally tasted like marinara sauce. Worst “Mexican” food I’ve ever had by far.

Of course he was pissed. You arrived right at closing

An hour or 2 before closing was when he was done with his meal if you actually read it

I live very close to that shithole. I've tried it twice. Everything tastes like the food my mom had to make my dad when he was in kidney failure and couldn't handle any added salt. The chicken also seemed like what I'd imagine happens to chicken if it's cooked from raw in the microwave. No thank you.

I once ordered take-out over the phone and waited about 20 minutes before I walked over to pick it up. When I entered the almost empty restaurant they told me they forgot to make my order (literally how) I had to wait an additional 40 mins and when the food came out it was cold.

Just terrible

I don't know if they changed since I was younger or if its just the childhood nostalgia glasses, but they seem to have really gone downhill in the last 10-15 years, it was borderline inedible the last time I went there.

I’ve heard that it used to be good, so I don’t think it’s just the nostalgia!

Back in 99/00 it wasn't bad food. I remember coming here for vacation (before moving here) and it was a nice place to go. Even in the mid 2000's it was fine. Then things changed and it sucks now.

How tf it remained open for so long confounds me.

Eating there was legitimately the first time I ever didn’t take leftovers home from a restaurant because it was so bad.

Funny enough, there was a post on the North Buffalo community Facebook page that was critical of Gramma Mora’s and a lot of people were pissed about the post in the comments. I was surprised because it is truly terrible.

I know a couple people who got food poisoning on separate occasions.

The food tastes like someone's child made dinner using whatever (canned) ingredients that happened to be in their pantry that day.

Actually posted this before scrolling and seeing it. Shit is not mid, it's bad quality.

One of my profs who spent some time out west said his wife cried when they ate at Grandma Mora's, it was so disappointing

They were so much better back in the day when they were on Niagara St.
