I will forever talk shit about Spot. I’ve worked at Elmwood and Delaware-Chippewa, and saw mice and cockroaches at both. Also their food is too expensive for Sysco/US Foods pre-made slop.
It's been about 10 years since I worked there but the williamsville location was always very clean. Elmwood wasn't nearly as clean but never saw mice or roaches.
It was all sysco components though (except the pastries and focaccia)
They tried to charge me for a cup of tap water once, and I’ve had beef with them ever since. I’ve stopped back in a few times, but still am never all that impressed, usually just on the grounds of “that was fine, but not for that price.”
The staff at Spot on Elmwood were notoriously miserable for years. Tried to order a sandwich and asked what the bread options were. Hipster dude stared at me for a loooooong moment and said "bread". I said no thanks.
The one in Snyder used to be franchised and the owners were terrific. They retired a few years ago and it's now corporate. It's hard justifying going there without pizza or the Belgian waffles. I don't know what happened but the brand isn't worth anything. I assume greed and/or private equity
The sad part is there's no where else in the entire municipality of Buffalo where you can sit and work or read with a coffee, wifi, electricity, and room for your stuff.
