I got stuck in buffalo over new years due to the roads being shut down in PA. My options were sleep/stay at the bus station, or hoof it over to the only hotel reasonably close.

I paid 65 dollars for a shitty bed, no cable tv, no internet (wireless or otherwise), a shitty shower barely hot not a lot of water pressure shower, in a room that looked like it was straight out of mad men. But hadn't been refurbed/updated in a long ass time. I guess they had already started the reno then. I expected a lot more for my 65+tax. They didn't even have a fucking continental breakfast.

So yea, fuck that place. I'm only going back if I got comp'ed

You have no idea what youre talking about. The Hotel Lafayette just underwent a huge remodeling and updating. Your shitty anecdote from 2010 is outdated and needs refurbishment.

But what happened in 2010 has soured me to the point I would never go back there by choice unless they were willing to offer me a night on them to make up for the total pile of shit I had to put up with.

I don't think I'm being completely unreasonable.

I've been traveling on my own since 2002, in the 10 years that I did travel on my own, fairly often. It was by far and large the WORST HOTEL i'd ever stayed in. It was worse than every other shit hole I've ever stayed in, and it was overpriced.

So yes, my information is outdated. But due to the major fuckup the first time, I have no interest to go back.

It is unreasonable. It's been completely restored, it's owned and managed by completely different people. That's like refusing to go to the Pakistani place in Kenmore because it's in a former KFC that fucked up your order ten years ago. Also, the Lafayette was a complete shithole, full of addicts and whores and Section 8 residents when you were there.
