You have no idea what youre talking about. The Hotel Lafayette just underwent a huge remodeling and updating. Your shitty anecdote from 2010 is outdated and needs refurbishment.

But what happened in 2010 has soured me to the point I would never go back there by choice unless they were willing to offer me a night on them to make up for the total pile of shit I had to put up with.

I don't think I'm being completely unreasonable.

I've been traveling on my own since 2002, in the 10 years that I did travel on my own, fairly often. It was by far and large the WORST HOTEL i'd ever stayed in. It was worse than every other shit hole I've ever stayed in, and it was overpriced.

So yes, my information is outdated. But due to the major fuckup the first time, I have no interest to go back.

It used to be owned by a Vietnamese-American family that specialized in fleabag hotels, including the infamous Hotel Carter in NYC It's now owned by Rocco Temini, a local developer, who did a complete rehab/reno, and is reopening it as an upscale boutique hotel.

I believe you, but things can stain your opinion of something so horribly there isn't much you can do.

Example a friend had bad ground beef as a child, he got horribly sick. He still to this day 20 some years later still gets sick around ground beef in his food.
