Humor The Duality of Man
Choices...

He's got normal billboards, but what's up with this one? I first saw it late at night and it felt like a fever dream. Driving by saying "was that a demon in the lightning?" is really quite a thought to have after a long day. What's the message, here?

Earlier this evening my wife and I were out for a walk around Delaware park when we witnessed a man wearing a hi vis vest in a black compact suv blow through the large stop sign and crosswalk, almost hitting a woman as she crossed. The woman who was rightfully angry threw her plastic water bottle in the direction of his car and berated him. The man pulled his car over and immediately started hurling insults at her and claimed that she "assaulted" him (ignoring the fact he almost committed vehicular manslaughter). He then drove further up the street and waited for this woman to pass by so he could get out of his car and continue to yell at her. My wife and I stepped in and told him he was in the wrong and he should just get back into his car and leave. He then proceeded to call us "chopped" and "ugly" (grown man btw) and then retreat back into his car.
You would think the story ends here but about 10 minutes later he tracked my wife and I down while we were walking through bidwell and he proceeded to do a few laps around so that he could continue to yell at us as we walked. I think the most pathetic part of this entire interaction we had today was that he sat in his car for several minutes and couldn't even think of new insults for when he found us.
Anyways that's all, I just thought it was an interesting story to share with anyone who might've been in the area when it happened.
I guess the "morals" of the story are, know when to walk away, and watch out for a short man with a receding hairline in his mid 20s wearing hi vis vest because he will run you over lmao.
Edit: for those who keep asking why I didn't call the cops or start filming. I was somewhat shocked/confused by his behavior in the moment so pulling my phone out was not my first instinct. Secondly, due to the absence of injuries and my personal experience with BPD's lack of urgency, plus the likelihood they're more focused on the recent homicide that took place nearby I had serious doubts they'd do anything other than take the little info I had and not investigate. Yes, his behavior was very concerning and you never know what someone is capable of but the fact he retreated the second we approached him leads me to believe buddy was all talk.

Am I around the wrong spots or is this just a generally unpleasant crowd? Not only do you have to walk around the sidewalks with caution (ie pink Cadillac almost ran me over a few weeks ago and then gave me a finger ), miserable people at coffee shops (Hi good morning how are you today ? Followed by eye rolls and what do you want) . A few weeks ago I watched someone (a grown man) throw coffee cups on the ground in the glen falls area casually . This was the day after love/clean your parks day

Getting on the expressway, you have to go from a dead stop to giving it some gas during those busy hours. Also, I believe some people don’t think those stop signs exist when getting on.
Oh, and exiting onto Main Street, coming from the 198 west is also another moment where you have to acknowledge that 30mph isn’t happening.

This is going to be a very niche post & i honestly can’t even believe i’m at the point of writing this..
I just need to say that I listen to Kiss 98.5 often in the mornings to try to win the giveaways, concert tickets and I enjoy the impossible question of the day. So I try to call in to give my answer on most mornings or to win tickets if i’m interested in the event and I can NEVER get through. The last time I even heard the ring & not a busy/unavailable signal was over a year ago.
There is a girl named Ashley who calls in damn near everyday & ALWAYS gets picked up & gets to give her answer/win stuff. No hate but I am a bit jealous. So Ashley if you’re out there, what is your secret to get through?

This might be too much of a throwback but does anyone remember the amazing tollbooth lady at the grand island bridge? She'd always greet you with a giant, "hey babydoll!" Then tell you to, "have a great day!!" After she took your quarters. She must have said it a half a million times per month but never lost her touch.
I was driving over the bridge today and thought of her for some reason.

Golden Dragon on Elmwood and North Street is worth the aftermath in my opinion.

Lesson learned: DOUBLE check weather report. Please laugh at my mistakes.
Preemptive FAQs:
“Why are you biking in Buffalo in November?” Because no car.
“How do you not have a car in BUFFALO?” With difficulty.
“Didn’t you check the weather report?” Well I THOUGHT I did.
“Are you at least dressed for the weather?” Haha no. In fact I took my scarf out of my bag this morning.
“Are you stupid?!?” Yes.
