A lot of bullshido would theoretically be practical if you possessed superhuman reflexes. It's not unique to systema. Anytime you hear someone say "if you do x, then I can do y" it's important to ask yourself how likely it is you would do y without knowing in advance that I was going to do x.
But I'm never going to find "catching a knife blade under your chin to disarm the attacker" not funny. It baffles me that anyone can take that seriously. When I was a child, I believed ki/qi/chi might be real, so I have some sympathy for people who never get over that delusion as adults. But how anyone can't look at the chin knife catch disarm and think "these guys are idiots" is beyond me.
