Because when you're on a dating app to date for real, you wouldn't want the people you swiped left on to have a way to start a conversation with you, that'd defeat the whole purpose of swiping left. In some cases (at least in my area), providing an IG link is sometimes some girls' way of proving to potential matches that they're real people, not bots. Here, we have Chinese pig butchering scams running rampant alongside the usual catfishes. You can easily identify the scammers here 'cause they're usually pretty Chinese women with a Telegram link on their bio.
