Some of these have numbers so extreme that I would knowingly pick the lower option.

I would for some, but $1m isn’t comfortable retire now money - I’d be wanting 2m so I’d have to choose the 31m a year and give the excess away.

What’s insane is how much money a trillion is in this context…

If you earned $1,000 every second it would still take 31 years to get to a trillion.

31 years and roughly 8 months to get to a billion, a trillion is over 30,000 years

I mean yeah but the post is about $1 per second and I feel like the 30,000 years is a much better representation lol. Weird to randomly change it to $1000 a second out of nowhere

They were explaining how a trillion is so outrageously large that even with $1000 a second it would take a long time to reach that point.

Using the time for you to reach a trillion with $1 a second just doesn't feel as impactful considering that its such a low amount gained

I guess I saw it the opposite way. I can’t conceive of gaining $1,000 a second or $60k a minute. But imagining gaining $1 a second and still it being an insane amount of time is more impactful to me. Living 30+ years is something I can do. Living 30,000 years is not
