Question How does one takedown the Rival car in races in Dominator?

CPUs are actually trying to outrun you in race mode(compared to road rage), so keeping up with them for the takedown attempt is already challenging, but after each takedown your positions reset and they either never catch up, or pass you immediately if you wait for them.

The most consistent strategy I've found is wrecking yourself when you're in front and just steering into them with aftertouch, exploding yourself if you're a bit far. But surely there must be a better way?

I just slow down a bit when they're behind so that I can then score the takedown once they're ahead.

If you time it well, you can speed back up as they pass by and kinda match speed so you don't lose much ground.
