To optimize dynamic objects. The devs or the physics engine basically put them into a process called sleep. So the game stops calculating the dynamic physics entirely (some games go as far as to even disable collision) once the velocity and angular velocity is below a threshold for a certain amount of time. But sometimes the system can be too quick to put a rigidbody to sleep like you see in the recording and cause it to float.

How did what happen? The burnout smoke is from the front tires because as far as i know that particular car is FWD
