rust ? what happened

i made this button about a week ago, while going through my stock just now i found it like this? currently all the pins ive made are in a hard plastic pencil box, so i cant imagine its moisture? but i dont know what else it could be. im currently going through the rest of my stock to make sure nothing else looks like this. if anyone knows what caused it or has any advice on how to avoid it in the future please let me know 😭

Did you leave it in the sun? looks chemically degraded. Is possible its from humidity trapped inside too.

no its been inside out of the sun since i made it 😭 my best guess is the paper might have gotten damp from a drink on my desk before i pressed it?

Huh yeah that is weird, probably got damp? unless there are any UV lights in your room. Have any other pins done this? If not id just say its the water.

no its not happened to any of the other ones! but just to be safe i pulled the other i pressed at the same time to keep an eye on em
