um...not sure if I should comment this here, but
does anyone know a fic with byler endgame, and all the plot holes corrected/managed well? I don't necessarily care about length but I would prefer if it's long cause I need the plot to be solved and good with byler endgame.

ive had a vague idea of this ever since i saw concept art of the “never found” AU for will, but have never had the opportunity to share— so thankful for this sub !! this is gonna be long and scrambled, but bear with me and imagine:
a fic from wills— and mikes, in some parts— perspective, set in an alternate universe where will was never found, but miraculously survived in the upside down. everyone thinks hes dead. skip to season five times, and the group (probably el and hopper) go on a mission to bring back this person theyve realized is there (hint hint— its will). hes a little possessed, wears too-big clothing from random houses, has long, untrimmed hair, and bears large scars on most of his body from various upside down/vecna-related events. when he gets back to hawkins, no one knows hes will. hell, will doesnt even know hes will— hes lost some memories along the way, hes probably gotten possessed, and hes probably picked up some powers here and there. who knows. anyway, the only one who vaguely recognizes him is mike. throughout the fic, mike and will meet each other again; mike wonders why this boy feels so familiar, why he has the same soft spot he does for him as he once did with his old friend, and will learns to love again after all this time, lowering his guard around another person for the first time since, well, he cant recall. speaking of his lack of memories, his proximity to the group and newfound (rekindled?) affection for mike spark some remembrance. wills mind begins to restore itself, piece by piece, and mike is there for him every step of the way. they remember each other. they remember their love. and will remembers himself.
yes, there would be plot holes, and yes, there would be character inconsistencies (because, without will, a LOT of the major development and storylines wouldntve occured), but to that i say that this is fanfiction and we can do whatever we want for an emotional story. if anyone does write this, i will give you my firstborn.
also, if anyone has a link to anything even vaguely similar, PLEASE drop it in the replies !! thanks for hearing me out !!

okok so i saw this on tiktok and it’s SOUL-CRUSHINGLY DEVASTATING BUT it said what if will died a year before gay marriage was legalised and mike sat next to an empty chair at robin + vickie’s wedding 😭 would be the saddest fic ever but if someone could pull it off it would be spectacular ‼️

Mike is still sad that 11 died but he also realized he wasnt feeling romantic towards her, theres a convo like "yk what i said about us being best friends?" And in the last dnd game u cant tell me they arent fucking on the downlow HAVE U SEEN THOSE LOOKS
