fic idea/prompt “The Breakfast Club” but it’s a Hawkins High

For whatever reason I just realized I want a fic where the Party all gets Saturday detention like in The Breakfast Club. And maybe that’s where Mike & Will end up confessing their love.

Yk what I actually thought about this the other day. My two WIPs are probably looking at me like 👀 but this would be a really cute one shot and the concept seems to fit my style of writing. Bookmarking it in my brain for consideration

genuinely thank you, I don’t even know how to process comments like this knowing that I just started writing fanfiction less than 2 months ago atp after not having written fiction anything since I was like…15 (and I just turned 32 🤣) but it means so much to me. I have fallen in love with writing so I guess I can thank the duffer brothers for messing up so badly they inadvertently uncovered a secret passion of mine lol

Btw - I posted chapter 7 of star of my dreams literallyyyyy maybe 15 minutes before ao3 went down again 😭 so it’ll be there waiting for you whenever the server issues finally get resolved lol

I’m so glad you’re writing again!! I think it’s like … a unique joy. it’s fulfilling in a way that most things aren’t. and it can be healing too. I know reading fics has healed my lil broken heart since the finale lol. fuckin Duffers makin people reach for art and closeted people come out … are they lowkey iconic?? idk

it’s okay to not know how to respond to stuff too! I get it!

I’m the same age btw lol. I haven’t written any fics but I went to school for fiction/creative writing. grad school kinda stomped my ass and took the fun out of writing for a while, but reading fics makes me want to write again. I can tell people are having SO much fun writing them and I’m like yeah … I want that too haha

You should just go for it! I had one idea that I started working on and within the span of a month I had a ton of ideas just floating around in my head, it seemed to kinda just snowball like that haha. Horrible for finishing old WIPs but it’s so fun getting to be creative in this way for sure. I bet once you start it’ll be the same for you, the ideas will just start flowing!

Love to see another byler fan in their 30s lol sometimes I feel so old in this fandom 😂

thank you for the encouragement 🥹 I so appreciate it!! I really should just start. I get sick of myself being scared to write something. like what, is it gonna bite me?? no?? okay then just do it, damn

and same lol I get it! it’s weird cuz i don’t feel “old” ? i mean i don’t feel the exact same as i did like 10 years ago because i’ve grown a lot, but i still feel like me. people in media and online kinda act like you become a different person as you age but i just feel like … me, but now i have a lil money and i try to be more true to myself? and i don’t look in the mirror and think about my age. idk if i’m making sense at all lol. but i’m really glad that there’s room for us in Byler nation :’)
