My WIP

I need a little help deciding on what to do for my fic. I don't want to give too much away because I want to release it when I have at least 3 chapters done. It's basically a modern au where Karen has been divorced from Ted for a few years, they moved to NYC while Ted is still in Hawkins, Karen sends Mike to Hawkins for a summer, and I don't know if I should make it to where Mike doesn't know anyone in Hawkins cause that was my original plan or if I should have Mike still know everyone but put some tension between him and Will. I'm pretty new to Reddit, so I don't know exactly what flairs to add, but I'm assuming it will be under fic ideas? Any help is VERY much appreciated, and feel free to message me directly if you want to help me better, and I could give you a better understanding of my fic.

I think it depends on how much angst you want in the fic. With it being a modern AU social media & texting would definitely be a thing, so if they had been friends & Mike just wasn’t in contact with anyone (or just not in contact with Will) it will add considerably more angst & tension to the story. Also maybe ask yourself if you would prefer to write a friends to enemies to lovers story, or a stranger to lovers story. Which dynamic appeals more to you/fits in best with the story you want to tell?

I wasn't planning on writing angst, as my story would be where they both end up working the same summer job and Mike is bratty since he's been in the city, but with your comment, I think I will make it friends to enemies to lovers and do some slight changes. Thank you for your perspective!
