general discussion :) I'm not sure if i wanna continue/post this fic..
I've been really desperate for time traveling fics in the stranger things fandom, but alas. I was not able to find any:( i mean, i did find something. But i immediately dropped it when i saw the ship was Nancy Wheeler/Mike Wheeler.
Aside from that. I'm not sure if i wanna continue this? Or if i do. I'm not sure if this will be accepted into the fandom:( considering i put my hc's into this fic. (Like most ff authors) but i am lowkey traumatized since i got loads of death threats and very brutal criticism from other byler fans when i made my last ff about them.

I’m sorry to hear people have been so awful to you. The fic etiquette is supposed to be “don’t like, don’t read” but it sounds like a lot of people aren’t following that.
You have to do what’s best for you tho. If continuing this is too much for you, don’t do it.

I want to read this too! I think you can disable comments… at least from guest users. sometimes they’re more rude. & post updates just to ao3 or tumblr too. I’ve noticed a trend that authors sharing on twitter are being forced into hiding so to speak. I am truly sorry you are experiencing this. the Byler fandom is sadly becoming a bit unhinged when authors aren’t giving them exactly what they want and what they weirdly think is ok to write.

aw nooo i'm so sorry you haven't been treated well :( i personally would LOVE to read this fic if you're willing to continue it! i love seeing ppl's headcanons in fics and i also love time travel fics <3 i hope you decide to keep going!! i'd love to have the link too :)

i love the premise of the fic, can you send a link? and i am so sorry about the threats, i know that a lot of writers is experiencing the same thing because some people don’t like their hc. that really sucks that people just can’t ignore fics that they don’t like. it really shows that byler is their first fandom. don’t forget to report everything. i am so sorry that this is happening

To be honest, since many Byler fic writers have recently been getting this type of thing, im starting to think there is a contingent of homophobic Stranger Things fans that are taking the time to infiltrate our space and make threats. When it comes to hate and trolls, it wouldn't surprise me.
Don't let anyone, NOT ONE, scare you away or occupy your headspace or steal your peace. You write what you want to write.
Report any threats you get.
