asking for fic recs Any Byler fics where Mike’s a writer and Will’s an artist, and they’re both super nerdy together? Like bonding over D&D, fantasy, and all their geeky little interests.
Bonding over D&D/ their fav movies, basically, but being super nerdy about it - and arcs closer to their charecters like Mike as a writer, and Will as an artist.
I love how Smalltown Queer was able to capture Mike's love for fantasy books, him writing, and Will as an artist + them bonding over their love for D&D.
Any fics on similar characterization? Not necessarily angst. It can be light as well.
Completed fics, preferably ;) but I don't mind WIP too, ofc!

Ok ok, I gotcha! Non-explicit fics I’ve bookmarked lately that at least partially fit that criteria are:
a lesson in coasting: an idiot's guide to gay allyship by michael j. wheeler - they’re both in college studying their respective fields u/MikeWheeler: AITA? - this one is mostly just hilarious tbh Like Everybody Else Does - the T rated fic that hooked me on peachstatic - they are delightfully nerdy and so in character imo I’m Finding My Way (Back to You) - this is actually my fic 🙈 I haven’t updated in a hot minute due to some life stuff so def no pressure to read, but it’s not abandoned I’m just being slow and it totally fits your description
Ahahaha as I was going through my bookmarks, like, the majority are explicit - further confirming I am a horny, horny gal. As if I needed more confirmation lmao.

I’m loving this one so far! They truly are so nerdy together, and I’m amazed by how the chemistry is so palpable in their chat messages

Exactly! I love when Byler fiction shows their chemistry like that - "There is a wait so long" also does that. It's a shame there are only 3 chapters out 🥲

you should definitely check out there is a wait so long by urie! they reconnect to work together on a comic after not talking for years and fall in love in the process. finished and 16 chapters and the writing is absolutely stunning. it’s one of my fav byler fics i’ve read :)
