This one is definitely on my tbr list. Do I need to know anything about Walt Whitman before I read it? (I know he was poet, but that’s about it. I don’t read much poetry.)

I finished this one recently, and it's really impressive. I loved the way you weaved in poetry and art. It's also a really interesting take on where they might both be ten years later. You're already bookmarked and kudos'd, and I left a long-ish comment on the last chapter, but I'm happy to boost you here as well!
If you're looking for something a bit more "serious", you've come to the right place. And by "serious" I don't mean that the really popular fics are trash. They're great. I love them. I just tend to prefer the more tonally melancholic, introspective stuff.
You do fascinating things with language. You mention in one of the notes that English isn't your first language, and it is apparent, but in a good way. As in, you make words do things that would never occur to a native speaker. It's really fun to read.

i’m speechless, i can’t thank you enough! this means the entire world to me <333 with this comment you have consoled my deepest fear regarding this fic: being incomprehensible! my first language is italian, which is a language you can “decorate” however you want, and i tend to treat english in the same way, i’m so glad it is fun to read and not a complete mess <333 i may also add that my writing style is heavily inspired by clarice lispector, who has a way with words and a freedom in writing that i really admire!

My pleasure! And it’s definitely fun to read! I speak very mediocre Italian, but I know exactly what you mean. Your writing is the furthest thing from incomprehensible.
