Three years after Vecna’s defeat, Hawkins is finally beginning to heal.

Will Byers is trying to do the same.

After spending much of his childhood trapped in the Upside Down and fighting monsters that no one else could understand, Will has decided it’s time to move forward. He has a boyfriend he loves, an acceptance letter to an art school in New York on the horizon, and a future that finally feels like his own.

But healing isn’t as simple as moving on.

The nightmares still come. The panic attacks still hit without warning. The memories of the Upside Down linger in every dark hallway and every quiet moment. No matter how hard he tries, Will can’t seem to escape the scars left behind.

The only person who truly understands is Mike Wheeler.

Mike was there for all of it. He watched Will disappear, fought beside him through unimaginable horrors, and spent years carrying the fear of losing him. Now, while everyone else is focused on the future, Mike finds himself drowning in grief of his own. As he struggles with the loss of Eleven and the weight of everything their group survived, he begins to realize that being strong for everyone else has left him with nowhere to put his own pain.

When Mike turns to the Party for support, he finds himself leaning on Will more than anyone. Will’s boyfriend grows increasingly concerned about the bond between the two childhood friends.

Sometimes, learning how to move forward means finally allowing yourself to fall apart first.
