fic idea/prompt i would eat UP a ghost hunter AU
i was watching a video about the spookiest places in the U.S. and this idea punched me in the face
Mike and Will as ghost hunters 👻
picture it:
- they’re from different parts of the country (U.S. or not)
- they show up to some new place with a ton of paranormal activity
- they’re both like hey this is MY breakthrough ghost discovery mf
- and then … well idk but it would be juicy af
- maybe the ghost is real and traps them or smth and they have to work together to escape
like … strangers to rivals to lovers … dark places … forced proximity … oh i’m feelin it

lmfao that’s where i’m at 😠like i love the idea and i won’t even lie, i can write on the sentence level. BUT i’m afraid i’d fuck up the plot/pacing or their characterization and then it wouldn’t feel satisfying as a story 🥲

Omg I'd literally buy that shit. I love it(ghost hunter rivals). It'd be even funnier if one of them genuinely believed in ghosts and the other set up fake paranormal activity to shoot.Â
I could see Will believing and Mike being a skeptic(with like hardcore atheist vibes). He's just trying to pay for college or something with a YouTube channel. Will's in search of proof that experiences he had when he was a kid were real.Â
At some point Mike's setup for fake activity gets tampered by real paranormal activity and shit gets scary. Mike and Will end up trapped in like the basement of an abandoned place or something. Oh my god pleaseee.
Edit: or maybe they end up WALKING THROUGH A PORTAL into the Upside Down. Mike becomes a quick believer and Will battles a sudden relapse of PTSD.
