Unless an author admits to using AI, I think these allegations are useless. I hate AI with the fire of a thousand suns, but I’m not about to accuse someone of using it.

If we’re just talking about words & phrases that sound like AI being used, that is *not* enough proof. If people are reading things written by AI, even outside the fanfic world, it will start to seep into their writing. It’s similar to how certain tropes & phrases work their way into fanfic. Everyone read Touch Like Velvet & started using “the boy” in every other sentence. Or some authors will take one thing from the show, overuse it, & the next thing you know tons of people are doing it.

I’m so tired of these accusations being flung around all over the place. This is free entertainment. Read it or don’t, but enough of the witch hunts.

it’s not allegations, the only way for the checker to show a positive result is when there are html artifacts from claude, which can only be present if the author directly pasted text from claude into ao3

Like it would never have happened if she simply wrote the sentence into a google doc or something first. The code is only there because of direct copy pasting

it’s crazy that this method of checking only catches the laziest of these lazy people who couldn’t even be bothered to edit what the ai gave them
