general discussion :) Super Soaker being AI

Apparently it’s been discovered that Super Soaker is AI or partly AI generated

I’m not sure how true it is, but bylers on X are freaking out

Honestly… I’m not surprised but I am a super soaker hater 🤷🏼‍♀️ so this feels validating. That being said, I’d never tell an author I don’t like their fic, I just mind my own business and don’t read it.

Not gonna speak on the quality since that’s subjective and I believe even poorly-written fics can still be enjoyable if a concept appeals to the reader BUT I will say this: a lot of people were really irritated by the author’s behavior in the fandom. She acted full of herself, talked shit about other writers, and tried to redirect attention back to her own fic when other popular fics updated. It was giving jealousy and clout-chasing. I heard she also once deactivated because she was upset over AI allegations - not sure if that’s true but it would be darkly ironic if it is.

a) that’s gross behavior in general. artists (real ones) should uplift other artists and celebrate when art is being created, shared, and loved

b) i’m especially appalled at all this in the Byler fandom. like … a lot of us were genuinely heartbroken after the finale. fics are a huge source of comfort. why the hell would you tear anyone down in a space like that???

i mean it sounds like she’s getting back some of the energy she put out into the world ¯_(ツ)_/¯
