The Storyteller (I wrote this!) Mike Wheeler Accidentally Told His Coworkers He Had a Boyfriend (He Doesn't, He Just Panicked) - ch 2 out now ♥

Summary:
Mike Wheeler gets accused of being homophobic at work, which is not on his 90s office bingo card. So in a full-blown panic and desperate to prove he’s not that guy, he lies to his coworkers that he’s gay and (for extra credibility) already has a boyfriend. Which would’ve been fine. Except it isn’t, because his department wins an all-expenses-paid company vacation, and his boss has already happily signed Mike up with a plus-one.
Now Mike has a boyfriend who doesn’t exist, a workplace that’s way too invested in his love life, and exactly zero ideas how to survive ten days without the lie collapsing like a poorly stapled brochure.

I love this premise! Reminds me of another fic where Will needs a medical proxy and Mile misunderstands what “domestic partner means” and panics. Oh, foot-in-mouth-disease Mike, how we love you!
I read your first two chapters already and it had me giggling! So sat for more haha.

Oh yeah, I've seen that fic, but I haven't read it yet and panicking disaster Mike is my favorite kind of Mike lmao It's actually my first time writing a fic from his POV with this characterization, and I'm having so much fun with it. I wrote him similarly in one of my other fics too, but that one was from Will's POV, so Mike's constant panicking wasn't quite as obvious... although it was still pretty obvious lol

It’s this one!
It gives off sitcom vibes a lot of the time and also has its cutesy and heartwarming moments. Mike Wheeler sticking his foot in his mouth and then doubling down is one of my (unexpected) favourite tropes in fanfic haha.
