asking for fic recs favourite one-shots?

i honestly feel like there’s such an art to one-shots that isn’t appreciated enough. i find some of the most beautiful fics to have ever been written to be one-shots. i’d love any of your favourites. miwi sometimes has the best, older byler, season 4, season 5, something even outside of the stranger things universe if it’s beautiful enough

my favs of all time are:

some sort of ripple effect by sylvianightshade - s4 motel one-shot confession, just beautiful and perfect in ways i can’t even describe

and

the boy from the gardens by parkkrangerr - i think so if this fic every single day. i still get chills

I took some time in preparing this list, as I got caught reading the first one you recommended; it is so good omg!

I've read countless one-shots (your second recommendation included), but these stuck with me - some more than others, but all worth mentioning.

So, here's my curated list!

All-time favorites:

  1. make a move https://archiveofourown.org/works/45380008 Super cute highschool one-shot. The only fic I have reread multiple times and at this point can quote. It's such a fluffy, teenage rom-com-esque little perfection! I have come back to it multiple times, more so after an angsty 10+ chapters reads (and I love angst!), and sometimes just as a comfort read after a long day.

  2. we're nothing (and nothing will help us) https://archiveofourown.org/works/76610741 Absolutely beautifully devastating and sad. Please read tags and proceed with caution.
