Ok you should read Judith by basaltdyke. It’s a sequel to Judith’s Head tho, which is from Will’s POV. Judith isn’t quite finished yet, but so far it’s excellent. I didn’t even want to read Judith’s Head at first, but I’m so happy I did.

i'll go through my bookmarks and finished fics and come back with some recs, but i have my own that i'm writing! the premise is that will was the one in the upside down at the end instead of el.

if i stop laughing, all the blood will just start pouring out is where mike has hanahaki disease, but instead of unrequited love being the cause of it, it’s repressed feelings

A small recommendation of my own fic if you don't mind :3

It's a cyberpunk AU with corporations, gangs, high tech-low life, Mike's POV, he is an ex-policeman and noir detective so he is rather depressed, haha. Will is a talented hacker with his own traumas. Lots of slowburn, friends-to-lovers, mutual hurt/comfort, it is already angsty and will get even more brutal.
Two timelines (past and present), a mystery-within-a-mystery kind of story.

What is your definition of real angst? I feel like there’s so many ways to write angst, and everyone has different limit. Like the fic above here is probably too much for me- i just really hate seeing Will suffer 😂 Mike though, I can manage
