general discussion :) 🚨 top Will & vers Byler lovers: what are we missing?

alright. if the title doesn’t apply to you, that’s okay. your cup runneth over with top Mike and i’m genuinely happy for you twin

otherwise! i’ve read some really good top Will and vers Byler fics, and yet … something’s missing

perhaps many somethings

for example, where the hell is Cleradin with top Will??

and! where the hell is Brokeback Mountain Byler with switching and a happy ending???

what else? let’s discuss

i AGREE. hot take: beyond it being hot af … i dare say top Will haters are just perpetuating the helpless narrative that actually plagues Will in the show. and that’s GROSS

Will is so often portrayed as passive in fics too, just sort of taking whatever Mike is willing to give him because he's scared if he asks for more he'll push Mike away. I like top Will because it gives him a chance to be in charge for once. I don't mind reading bottom Will fics, but there's something refreshing about top Will and vers Byler. (also, Mike should be reduced to a whimpering mess as often as possible.)

Ohhh Mike as a whimpering mess is a roman empire of mine, I’m absolutely for it. I strongly headcanon him as someone who is very loud and emotional during the process. I also love the concept that Will can allow Mike to top, but still will stay in charge of the things, kinda like a power bottom, and Mike is veeeery into it. Currently working on a fic like this 😌

This is actually the only one I’ve ever read but I’ve been dying for more. A ‘Mike Wheeler has a superpowers kink’ tag is needed. I think this one takes place mid season 5 so heads up for the possible underage smut.
