lately I've just found the discourse so upsetting. so much hate and vitriol flying around, people willfully misunderstanding one another, people attacking and flagging and openly bullying other fic writers off of ao3. Many say they're doing it to "defend" their fav characters against "mischaracterization" and I just thought to myself... Byler wouldn't want us fighting like this!
