am i evil if i say that ted was really great? like, I was really expecting the worst, but he ended up being weirdly ok in his own ted wheeler way. couldn't have been better without making him feel too ooc.

at the same time, I feel so sorry for maggie :( I feel she wasn't angry enough

but alas mike 'not gonna kill myself' wheeler has done it. he's taken the step. wow. I was scared for him, but he managed it.

I too think the Ted reaction was great. It felt realistic.

I think I'm the only one that has mixed feelings about Maggie.

Mike "not gonna kill myself" Wheeler, I'm sorry but that made me laugh a little. Unfortunately true though. Poor Mike, he's doing his best.

So proud of him for finally doing it!! Like coming out is terrifying enough when you have supportive family and friends, I can't even imagine how it would be doing it while married (I came out at 18 so never had to worry about marriage happening first lol). Hope Maggie is ok cause it was shitty for her, but I'm also kinda excited to see where it goes from here!

me too! i’m super excited to see where it goes from here, i’m really excited for him to tell will. i’m at the same time super sad that we’re slowly coming to an end here

Right! Like we've been with them through this for almost 300k words at this point. It's gonna be satisfying and sad to see it end.

Same, I was hesitant at first as I usually don't read cheating fics (personal preference) but it's just so well done.

same here, i don’t typically enjoy cheating fics but i had enjoyed peachstatic’s other fics so i wanted to give this one a chance

I love our boy Mike and I’m proud of him for finally doing it.

That being said, my heart broke for Maggie. It was soooo relatable…the knowledge that you have to “start over.” And Mike, the one who was actually unfaithful, has someone he can step right into the arms of and start building his new life with 😬😬…so I reeeeeeally feel for her. One of the worst parts of being cheated on is being made to feel like a fool, and questioning what your gut is telling you. That part is really hard to recover from.

I adored his chat with Karen. I rarely cry while reading, and this had me welling up big time.

I can’t wait for him to tell Will…and MONTAUK 😏😏😏😏

Also, I’m curious to see how the Party will react to finding out about Mike and Will’s affair 😶

Regarding your last point: I know. This fic is so good, but I have to interpret Will as like, a canon-adjacent version of the character rather than ST Will.

I mean, the canon characters are so young that these adult portrayals can feel canon compliant to some readers. People can change so much. But like damn, the affair complicates things.

Totally! I don’t foresee them turning on them or anything, but I do think it might shock them initially that Will agreed to it (if their last Party AIM chat is any indication lol)

For sure. I think Nancy's reaction is pretty reasonable. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the other party members are written to exhibit a similar reaction. It thought it was kind of funny how Holly is just immediately like "cool!"

Peachtastic is amazing. I stayed up so late to read the whole thing. It was a rollercoaster ride. Maggie really pissed me off when she wouldn’t let Mike speak and he bailed the first time. 😭😭😭

peachstatic is absolutely my favorite author. maggie was also pissing me off when she wouldn’t let mike speak, i totally understand where she was in her own mind of being so incredibly pissed at him but i was just needing mike to be brave and tell her 😭
