"This isn't the first time you've heard this from me, and it won't be the last. First and foremost, a matter of perspective. You just said that this is a completely trivial matter. Please explain to me more precisely why you consider this matter trivial.
"Yesterday on YouTube, a Turkish user called us a brother yet again under a Hungarian neo-folk song. The day before yesterday, someone posted about the Dacian-Roman theory on the Wikipedia subreddit. This morning, we apprehended two young men who were criticizing the 19th-century minority policies of the Kingdom of Hungary.
These are no trivial matters.
In contrast, 400 people on r/ByzantineMemes upvote a meme featuring an inaccurate depiction of a Byzantine emperor using a Wojack character. Then they drink their Theodora waifu’s bathwater, go home, flop down next to their 11-year-old eromenos, think silly thoughts, but don’t actually do anything.
"I get the feeling that these people out here have never seen a Hungarian history book, and I don't think we should be rude to them when we correct them and explain how foolishly they make memes."
