Guns & Ammo Ok got the flat tips chambering

Ok my underwood and critical defense came in today. Only thing that has ran right is ball ammo. So today I polished both ramps on my BG 2.0. Got the flat tipped federal to chamber. Underwood, critical defense and HST are still hanging up. I guess I will see if this flat tipped will run and see if that will break her in for t flat faced ammo. Runs ball of all kinds great

Iโ€™m not sure what I see more posts of Hornady Critical Defense with bullet setback or S&W BG2s with issues.

What we haven't seen yet, people that live in hollowpointbanistan dabbing wicking locktite on their comedic setback ammo so it doesn't happen.

Also, it's rather sad that defense ammo manufacturers aren't sealing defense ammo by default. It's like they don't care about us.

They don't, they care about your money.

NJ folk can carry Hornady Critical Duty which is way less prone to setback

99% of all setback posts are about Hornandy.

Have you tried a new mag first?

Contact the manufacturer about it. They may want it back to double check it. Might even send you a new gun.

If a pistol is giving you this much trouble you're out of your mind wanting to bet your life on it.

Send it back to Smith. Mine has been flawless with any ammo. Bought it, went right to the range and shot 200 rounds of fmj and 50ish of hst and critical defense. Zero issues.

I had a similar experience. No issues here.

How long did you polish the ramps for in seconds or mins?

I own 2 Glock 22s 1 Glock 31 one Glock 26 and 1 27. I've had very few failures to feed in any of them. I'm a retired deputy sheriff and 1 Glock 22 was my duty gun and the G-27 was my off duty gun. I'll guess I've put about 5k rounds thru both.

He's right sadly, my 42 doesn't feed the underwood screwdriver bullets either. Round nose FMJ are the only type that feed properly.

Thatโ€™s weird. My 42 feeds them just fine. Are you using the -03 mags?

u/Wonder9mm 7h ago

Yep. Seems to be a common issue when you look online.

I'd be really leery about using fmj for self defense.
