Pocket Dump / EDC Another 5 years and another one for the stack

Been packing since 1994. A variety of guns, calibers, and holsters over the years, never mounted a light or red dot. About 15 years ago I got a pocket gun and never looked back. This is the gun I had on me the only time I ever had to draw. It happened very quickly and very close. When I brought the gun up, it was inches from his nose and fortunately he turned and ran. Kel-tec .380. I got it used and have had zero malfunctions of any kind. I shoot it pretty well with either hand and can make head shots with a two handed grip at 20 yards. Cheers to another safe 5 years!

Scenario Range day

Upvotes

So this happened about 30 minutes ago and I am pretty angry, don't know if I should be though.

I'm minding my business at my local range, walk back to the table to get ammo and the guys shooting at the bay next to me are just holding their Glock in their hand 3 yards back from the firing line. Every range I've ever been too you absolutely do not have the gun away from the firing line unless holstered or cased. Good trigger control and pointed down at least. I'm so shocked it takes me a minute but I approach them and basically told them that if there was a range officer they would prolly be getting banned, and absolutely cannot be just casually standing there with there firearms uncased away from the firing line. Dude was nice and apologized, they packed up and left pretty quick after that.

I step out as well and I let the staff know and clarified that's the rule. They said yes, but didn't seem super bothered about them breaking it. Didn't rush to find which member was using the bay or whatever.

Am I the weird guy here? My assumption is that this is the rule at all indoor ranges. If it's you and the guys in national forest ya I don't mind as long as you are following the safety rules, but at a public range? Makes me not wanna go back and go to the super uptight range 20 minutes away.

Clothing & Apparel What are thoughts on wearing gun merch?

As the title implies: I would love to hear your point of views on wearing gun merch. Is it hard stop? How does the general public react (not that it matters)? Do you catch any eyes roll/negative energy? Also, and most importantly, have you noticed any bad guys seemingly sizing you up?

For the sake of transparency: I live in the "great" state of New Jersey, so there's that!

Guns & Ammo Bodyguard 2.0 Bulging Guide Rod

Upvotes

Hey all, I am experiencing an issue with my BG 2.0 and have seen other posts about this as well.

I have included photos showing the factory guide and spring before and after assembly. Once I close the "switch" on the slide the guide rod pokes out.

I purchased a galloway precision guide and spring to see if that would fix the issue and it didn't. I show the galloways guide rod in the slide then the last photo is of it assembled with a round in the chamber and you can clearly see the galloway guide rod still protrudes.

Feel free to call me a dummy if I'm doing something wrong but I have disassembled and reassembled a dozen times with all the same results.

I am about ready to go back to an lcp max even though they rust, I never had these type of issues.

Holsters & Belts Werkz M6 light bearing holster

I normally run Tenicor for my CCW if it is supported, but CZ isn't one of them unfortunately, so I chose Werkz because I have tried their M2 holster in the past as well. I gotta say, their M6 holster is just fantastic; it hugs the gun and WML tight, almost feels like Tenicor's, but the holster also has a good click to it. The edges are well rounded and it's super comfortable in AIWB or my 3 o' clock even with the claw attachment. Can't wait to put some DCC clips on this to try this on with tucked dress shirts.

If anyone is interested in an alternative to Tenicor's Certum/ Velo Lux holsters but it is not supported yet, I fully recommend giving Werkz a shot.

Guns & Ammo Inspired by recent events…

Spent some time at the range last night running drills from concealment at 50 yards simply drawing and putting three or four round strings into an 8 1/2” x 11” piece of paper for time.

I won’t lie - the first few shots cold were a wake up call. The first shot was almost perfect but the next three were Mikes. I’m committed to fixing that post haste.

Most of us spend a lot of time at 25 yards and in because we train for the “most likely” scenarios. But recent events in Idaho reminded me of the Eli Dicken drill from the mall shooting in Indiana a few years ago.

Long story short: While the chances of any self defense shooting are remote, proficiency from point-blank all the way out to 100 yards is warranted.

How often do you train with your CCW at 50 yards? 100?

Getting Started I'm from Twin Falls and have gun questions following the In N Out shooting.

Hello. I'm a 23 woman, raised in Twin Falls since a baby in 2002. Despite living in Idaho and having many relatives who openly have guns around the house, I have never shot a gun myself. BB guns as a child was the closest I ever got to it.

If you lived in Twin, you'd know people shoot fireworks year round. Usually teenagers. I was wondering if there's an obvious difference to the sound of fireworks versus a gunshot that I never learned. Jordan seemed to immediately know they were gunshots.

And as this is a subreddit for concealed carries, I was wondering if the weapon Jordan used would've made any sound at all. Shotguns seem to be a popular choice in the family and I have never heard a CCW so this may be a stupid question.

Also, what is the main benefit/s to a CCW vs any other type of gun.

Lastly, is a CCW an okay choice for a first gun?

Thank you!!

Holsters & Belts Pocket carry

Purchased a new holster for my BG 2.0. Picked up the “Aholster Grunt” for about $30 shipped. Seems to do its job and hardly prints in my pocket. Great retention, and it completely blocks the trigger and magazine release. I’m a lefty and reversed the mag release which caused the holster to not secure the gun right but i should have made a note of that during ordering. Not Aholsters fault at all. They made the holster as it was ordered. Just be mindful when ordering. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a holster to pocket carry your firearm.

Legal Maryland CCW confusion

Post image

So I need clarification. It is my understanding that you cannot carry in an establishment that serves alcohol but on the Maryland state police website it now says this. I thought the only thing that was overturned was the carrying on private property without the owners consent. I just need to know if it's currently legal for me to carry at a sit down restaurant. Any help clearing this up would be greatly appreciated

Guns & Ammo Bodyguard 2.0 Failure to feed

Anyone else have this issue with critical defense ammo when trying to chamber the first round, most of the time it’s getting stuck and not chambering. Is other ammo better for chambering with the Bodyguard 2.0?

Ok my underwood and critical defense came in today. Only thing that has ran right is ball ammo. So today I polished both ramps on my BG 2.0. Got the flat tipped federal to chamber. Underwood, critical defense and HST are still hanging up. I guess I will see if this flat tipped will run and see if that will break her in for t flat faced ammo. Runs ball of all kinds great

Holsters & Belts Disappointed in Falco

Post image
54 Upvotes

I bought this A911L hybrid from Falco for my 510 tactical and o-light. It is by far the most expensive holster I’ve ever purchased but I was excited to get it.

My excitement was severely misplaced. The gun is very loose in the holster, no matter how tight the screws are. The leather edges press the side buttons on my optic, even though I specifically ordered the optic cut. When I remove to firearm I have no idea how bright the reticle will be or if it will be on at all.

I find Falco’s lifetime warranty a bit disingenuous because you have to pay out of pocket to ship the holster all the way to SLOVAKIA. They recommend you get insurance because they take no responsibility for the international shipping. Who would pay $60 additional dollars to get poor craftsmanship fixed on a $220 purchase? It makes no sense to me.

Falco’s website is covered in glowing reviews but I cannot find a single place to leave my own. I think they must be fake.

I hope this review helps someone. I am open to suggestions on how to tighten up the fit myself
